F.P.JOURNE - THE “CHRONOMÈTRE BLEU”

F.P.JOURNE - CHRONOM_TRE BLEU

Introduced as a new approach of high precision for a younger generation of collectors, the CHRONOMETRE BLEU launched in December 2009 revealed itself as an ultimate Trend Setter in inspiring numerous watch brands.

The magnificent blue chrome dial of the F.P.Journe Chronomètre Bleu was the first to have opened the door to a new variation of colour in the high range of premium dials.

F.P.Journe reveals to be more than a source of inspiration in the high horology world for its constant search for precision and innovative calibres; it’s also the innate aesthetical sense of the brand, combining harmony, simplicity and elegance that has set a trend in the design of watch making.

The bluish anthracite colour of the case in Tantalum, rare and precious metal, has also contributed to the success of this timekeeper in initiating the trend “Blue”.

Tantalum is a very hard metal rarely used in watchmaking. It is extremely difficult to manipulate due to its very high fusion temperature at 3000° and a density of 16.3. It is also precious as highly resistant to corrosion and wear.

The manual winding movement of the CHRONOMETRE BLEU is made in 18K rose gold, like that of all F.P.Journe creations. Signed with the label -Invenit et Fecit- (invented and made), each F.P.Journe exclusive movement guarantees a manufacture calibre, invented, constructed, and assembled entirely in our Geneva workshops. For the CHRONOMETRE BLEU, the exacting motto of F.P.Journe’s watchmakers holds true: “to each watchmaker his own watch”.

The manually wound movement of the CHRONOMETRE BLEU oscillates at 21,600v/h. Twin barrels, in the classic configuration of precision watches, work in parallel to deliver stable power for much of its 56-hour full autonomy. The F.P.Journe free-sprung chronometer balance with inertia adjustment on four opposing weights is dynamically adjusted to six positions, with an emphasis on constancy of rate.

The CHRONOMETRE BLEU is available at all F.P.Journe Boutiques in Paris, Geneva, New York, Tokyo, Hong Kong and Beijing, as well as through all authorized F.P.Journe retailers world-wide (complete list available at www.fpjourne.com).
